The powder metal gears used in power tools include spur gears, bevel gears, face gears, pinions, bevel gears, gear sets, and ratchets. Each gear has its own special requirements.

Electric tools also use cams, rods, counterweights, bearings, bearing seats, brush holders, clutches, rotors, cylinder blocks, end covers, blades and chuck jaws. The hardness of the powder metallurgy gear manufacturing is very important. The hardness range of the helical cylindrical gear is 25~35HRC, and the hardness range of the other two gears is 30~38HRC. When the hardness of the gear is high, it will wear the pinion on the shaft, and when the hardness of the gear is low, it wears faster.

All powder metallurgy gears can be heat treated after they are sintered and pass the inspection. Therefore, the gears must be inspected for accuracy, and all gears must be immersed in oil before assembly. The cost of powder metallurgy gears is about 45% lower than that of cutting gears.
